Individual Counseling for Relationships in Birmingham, Alabama

Do you dread being alone?

Are you struggling to move past a break-up?

Do you have difficulty forming or maintaining friendships?

Maybe you just had a huge fight with a friend or family member or you experienced yet another rejection. You could be asking yourself, “Is it me?” or, “Why does this keep happening?”. Perhaps you’re feeling lost, hurt, and confused after surviving an abusive, traumatic, or toxic relationship. Or simply struggling to navigate life as a single person. You may identify or have been called “co-dependent” and want to know more about what that means.

What ever it is, you are beginning to notice the impact of this in your everyday life:

  • Unable to focus due to constantly checking your phone for a text or message

  • Questioning yourself, your worth, and your sanity.

  • Being left out or excluded by family and/or friends

Relationship Counseling Can Help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can have the relationships you desire. You can feel confident in yourself and move on. You can be satisfied in your relationship.

Relationship Counseling helps you do three things:

  • Examine current and past relationships to identify unhelpful patterns of behavior, on both sides

  • Learn how to effectively communicate and stand up for yourself in a respectful, productive way

  • Work towards acceptance of others, and yourself, for who they are and understand how to relate to them

I will help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to relationship counseling comes from a perspective of understanding we cannot change others, only ourselves. We will work together to first improve your relationship with yourself and later learn how this may be impacting your relationships with others.

A cycle of tumultuous or toxic relationships does not have to be your story.
